WORD BOWLS
Ever since my days at Art College I have enjoyed incorporating words with my work. I’ve been wanting to do this with felt for some time. After much sampling and trying different techniques, I’ve finally found a solution. The letters are based on my own handwriting.
Two Large Word Bowls and one Medium (Smile).
What is the collective noun for a group of Word Bowls? An “emotion”?
Words Bowls, beginning to end! Raw Wensleydale fleece and my sketches alongside some finished Word Bowls.
Large Word Bowl. The outer layers are Herdwick fibres.
I like to showcase the outer layers by using different fibres for the inside. In this example the outer layers are Shetland fibres and I have used white Bluefaced Leicester fibres on the inside.
The outer layers are Whitefaced Woodland which is one of the rare British sheep breeds.
